Welcome to Rear Window

In January I moved into a new apartment on the other side of the Presidio at Baker Beach. While my previous apartments in the Presidio looked out towards trees, the Baker Beach apartments more closely resemble housing projects. When you look out the window you see all your neighbors across the way looking right back. It reminded me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie Rear Window.

Just like Jimmy Stewart, I too, was housebound recently working on my thesis proposal. As I spent more and more hours stuck behind a computer screen, my eyes drifted out the window and it seems that almost every day there was something interesting to see. I haven't yet witnessed any murders or spied on my neighbors but if you follow along you may or may not be interested to hear about the things I do see. My mom's runaway hit Autumn of Ginny inspired me to try my own hand at blogging but I might focus more on photos than writing. The background photo is the view from my desk in my bedroom. Here's the trailer from Hitchcock's Rear Window if you've never seen it.
